Also as I am not going to be at work from now on the updates will probably get more sporadic, though I may get round to putting some pics on - that would be fun!

Being playing the Shammy a lot, managed to get to level 44. Then went into Arathi Basin (I prefer WSG but no one is using it at the moment) to keep my hnour going. Well I had a nice suprise this month, I have made Grunt, thats 3 weeks of AB twice a week at level 42-44 so not too hard. Still not in the top 1000 though :(, I was ranked 900th with about 100 kills last week. This week I have played 3 more times in AB (we won all 3) and have over 100 kills so that is OK for this week - which is pretty handy as I don't think I will be on for a week now and sporadic from then on. Well I need to do some instances with the shammy as my gear really stinks now, my axe is looking really shoddy to but I can't bring myself to buy one so I will have to bite the bullet :(

Played the warrior last night and gained a level for him, about halfway to the next as well I think, he has got his beserker stance after managing to send him some potions in the mail. Put him in STV, when he gains the next level I will go after the brutal armour in Razorfen Krawl, very difficult to get a group to go there it seems, I am probably a bit high level for it too now so would get away with a small group I think.

Well hopefully this won't be my last post!

Beserker

Tried to get beserker stance for Theodread but died not long before the last mob. This was mainly because I had no healing potions, so I thought I would go and buy some - err whetre do you buy potions well I tried Ratchet, no luck, tried Xroads no luck, then Ogrimmer no luck, eventually the AH no luck - bleh. Also did another stupid thing with the warrior - I bought another slot in the stables ffs - thats going to be really handy for a warrior.
The warrior joined a new guild last night too, 'Bloodfang Warlords' it looks as though its going to be quite a good one I reckon. There are only 15 members at the moment but apparently its an old guild that has reformed after some sort of spat. Of those 15 9 were online at one point which is pretty impressive so I am hoping this is a decent one as all the others have not done much so far.

Gave up then and went back to the rogue who I haven't played much for a while. He is in StoneTalon, I had 2 quests up at the peak so wandered up there. Had a pretty easy time, I tried these quests at lvl 22 and got absolutely no where, level 24 and its all no problem. I also discovered the delights of SAP, I hadn't tried it before but it really is pretty usefull. Enables you to take 2 mobs pretty easily. Well Drogo had about half a level to go before he levelled and did this quite easy and is now probably about halfway to level 26 .... and cheap shot, yum yum. I keep playing around with his build and I reckon I am going to get into a terrible mess soon :( Also I had a load of weapons on him and some armour for higher levels but I don't have it anymore, hopefully I put them in the bank and didn't sell then.

Kerching

Another 2 levels last night one for Oromebstard who is now 43, he was only 2 bars off levelleing and one for Theodread who was about halfway.
The shammy is still in STV, but not for much longer I guess, trying to do the 2nd part of the buccaneers quest, unfortunately I can't find the charts and the other bit of paper I need but having looked at thott I think I may have been looking in the wrong place. Still I am well on the way in the snuff quest now.
Sent the warrior to the shimmering flats which is easy level country, there are about 5 quests and a reasonable spread of quests. You also get follow up quests to booty bay and ratchet which is a handy boost.

Now heres the thing, I appear to have missed a trick somewhere, I can't buy beserker stance. Which means I can't get intercept a warrior essential. Can some kind sole let me know how I can get this, I presume theres some quest somewhere I have missed!

Back to STV

Went back eventually to STV with the shaman, having managed to get my axe usage back up to about 180 – its just amazing how much difference this makes.
I was ganked several times just outside Gadtzetown doing this – thanks again. Needless to say I then took it out on some other lowbie allies I found.
Got ganked whilst trying to get the naga explorers by a gnome mage called Munchkin. Went back to get my revenge and he got me again – not to be daunted I went back and this time managed to get him. I will have to have some duels with some mages cos I couldn’t figure this one out, I don’t use my totems enough I guess is the real problem. The air one that absorbs spells I use so seldom it takes me till I am dead to find it.
Got ganked earlier by a paladin whilst fighting 2 raptors – nice to see them living up to their code! What was most annoying about this one was that there was another Horde there who just stood and watched him kill me, I expressed my gratitude!!!
I joined a guild the other day which seems to have the most active players that I have seen in a guild – usually 6 or so on at a time. They haven’t organised anything yet and the leader is far and away the highest level their – he is 48th level and I am 2nd at 42 the next are about 3 at 38. Well I will give this a go and see how it goes, the only interaction I have had really is someone wanting me to run them through RageFire in Orgrimmer – I declined!
Well 2 bars of level 43 so I will do that tonight then move on to another char, probably the fighter.

Here is todays question, I now have 2 necklaces – which to wear.
Necklace 1. +1% Dodge +2 Agility
Necklace 2. +8 Spirit +5? Well first I needed to boost his HK's totry and move a bit closer to that pvp rank 2. Didn't do too well got caught a few times against 5 or 6 Allies and theres just no way a Shammy is going to survive that. I then respecked and thought I would try a few quests I had abondoned in Desolace, well I couldn't get then, very frustrating had long conversations with the DM's but all they came back with was that I was too high level. Well my interface is now screwed cos I had to get rid of the to W?? folders so I am pretty pissed. Also a strange thing seems to have happenned along the way, my axe skill seemed to have been reset very low, I don't know how low as I hadn't noticed until I got killed by 2 level 34's that I just wasn't hitting. The DM said he hadn't seen that happened before which was great comfort! So my axe skill is now 50 short of where it should be which is a real pain you just wouldn't believe hw much difference this makes. Its not much fun hitting for single figures of damage!
After that I ground out the mage to level 34, he had about 5 bars to go and it went pretty easy, except for someinterface issues when I was trying to get things sorted.

If anyone can help here are some of my interface issues that I haven't worked out how to resolve again yet :-
1. When typing text the text appears large (the text in the boxes is OK)
2. Icons are larger than they were
3. The time left on spells is no longer visible
4. The anount of HP and Mana is not showing

I have obviously found these once before but can't work out where they are at the moment. I was hampered by some internet problems, Saturday morning the whole of Utrechts internet was down. Then on Sunday morning the internet was down again, this time it was due to the wireless router powerlead coming out – you wouldn’t believe how much effort it took to persuade someone to have a look at it (they didn’t know where the antennae was and got me to look at it anyway – lol). So there’s the excuses out of the way, what happened I hear you cry. Well Friday and most of Saturday I played the Shammy probably the reason for my downfall at the end of the day. Had some good fun and got to have a run at Ulderman which wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be – it was a bit boring as I was doing the healing which was fine except out warriors were not too good at holding agg on more than 2 mobs so when I healed at one point I got mobbed by mobs. I consequently couldn’t heal so we all died – we had a warlock fortunately and he soulstoned me (I haven’t got a rez rune yet – I will have to make an investment). So I started rezzing the others and we were resting when the mage (Magicman I think) wandered back into the mobs that had just killed us, I think he must have been a bit dazed from being dead – well they came back and killed us all again for good measure. We called it a day after that, it was a reasonable team though I didn’t get very close to completing any of my quests as everyone was quicker at looting than me – I much prefer round robin.
I then had a couple of runs in Arathi Basin which was OK, though I was a bit under-powered at level 42, we lost both games badly especially the 2nd one in which we were outnumbered 15 to 9. I spent most of that one trying to get out of the graveyard. I think I was bottom of the 2nd one and about a 1/3 up from the bottom of the previous one. Anyway I got past the 25 hk I need to have something count towards my pvp ranking and I am about 1/3 of the way to the next level. I could do with a few more levels before going back in I think. Hunters are a real pain in there, they always seemed to pick on me too (boo-hoo!), there is nothing makes you panic more than having that big red arrow over your head. I tried to get into WSG but no one seems interested in that anymore which is a shame. Well he is halfway to level 43 so maybe get him up a level this week.
Next I played the warrior who is in 1kN, managed 2 levels reasonably easily and have managed to get upto skill level 125 in mining which is important as I can now mine iron. I have a bank full of bars of metal at the moment, most of which I can’t use as my blacksmithing isn’t high enough  Completed a fair few quests including Steelsnap for the first time which was great, I know now where he lives so he better look out for when my Rogue gets their.
Talking of the rogue, I was struggling finding quests I could complete at level 23 so had to grind out to level 24. I could then do the quilboar quests reasonably easily and will then go back to Stonetalon as there are a couple of quests there that I should now be able to complete which I had given up on previously. This is where things started going wrong though as I just plain ran out of rest bonus and I wasn’t going to play without rest bonus – what a waste 
On to the mage then – well he was in STV and I had done the quests which were doable at his level (32) so I decided to go to Arathi. Tried to do the rod quest near Tarren Mill but the Yeti’s just resisted most of my spells even though they are the same level so I had to give up on that and head into Arathi Basin. Managed to complete 4 quests there no thanks to the alliance ganking bastards. I was ganked 5 times, I managed to get away 3 of those times, the 2 occasions I died was against level ??, I hope they enjoyed the 0 benefit they gained! I don’t tend to gank, in fact I have even stopped attacking one char when they didn’t do anything but with all the times I have been ganked it is getting increasingly difficult to carry on with this policy. Sometimes it goes fine and you just give a wave but othertimes they just attack you, some Gnome did that to my Shammy (I had 99hp at the time) in the Badlands, he had just done the same to another Shammy near there well when he was drinking to get his mana back the Gnome came after him again, I messaged the shammy and we both came back and blew him away – then had a conversation over his body – he must have thought we were camping – lol. Anyway he materialised and made a run for it. I couldn’t catch him but must have given him a fright ( I wasn’t too bothered). Funnily enough I had wandered the otherside of this hill and he came round from the other way still running, must have given him an even bigger fright – lol

Well the only char with any rb left now is the mage so it will be him tonight.

Big Weekend coming up!

So first of all last night - played the rogue for a while to use up some rb ready to be built up again at the weekend. Did the shredders and gizmo wrenckle(with a bit of help) and a couple of other quests I had in the area. My thief is a herbalist so I pick up any herbs that I find, unfortunately I now seem to have a bit of a problem (and I haven't checked out what) I don't appear to be able to make any potions at the moment! I must have a vital ingredient missing - I have tons of herbs (and vials) but I can't seem to make anything - something I will have to have a look at at the weekend.

After that I played the warrior - for the same reason, I haven't played him for ages so it took a while to work out where he was (Orgrimmer) and why he was there. He is level 29 so its of to 1kN and also to try and finish off the Brutal Armour Quest which is in RazorFen Krawl - there were no takers last night :( So I did a couple of the easy quests there - the Kolkars and the alien egg. Another frustrating profession thing. I have 115 mining, 1kN is full of Iron - I can't do iron till I get 125 and there is hardly any tin to get to up my skill :( Also I need the iron for the brutal armour, damn annoying especially as my skill only goes up 1 pointper load of tin. Blacksmithing is a bit tricky at the moment too - I have bundles of Tin and Bronze (made by mistake - doh), but I only have recipes for copper of which I have very little - still theres a fair bit of copper about and I have a bank account pretty much full of bars of metal and stones of various types so I should be able to get my blacksmithing up pretty fast (its at 90 at the moment). Well besides that it went pretty well, I had some ?? level ally watch me kill a cat, didn't catch his name but he was a rogue in Ace of Spades - whoever you are thanks for not honing your knives on my worthless carcass!

Now back to the title, the weekend ahead is going to be very busy on wow (connections, servers and overheating problems aside - fingers crossed). I have the whole weekend to play and not much else to do (I have to do a couple of runs and get some food but that won't take too long). So this weekends target! I want to get all of my characters up 2 levels over the weekend. Shouldn't be too bad for most of them except for the Shammy, that is who will probably take a lot of effort. So wish me luck on my mammoth task and I shall report back on Monday morning!!!

Oh No - new release

With the new release I my level 40 will go from the top of the tree to the bottom  in BG. Consequently last night I had my swansong in WSG and then it will have to be a big grind to get to a decent level to be able to go back in again. I didn’t do too well in the first game having 5 kills but dieing 6 times. We were very fragmented and the allies had some good flag runners which resulted in a lot of deaths, we only lost 3-2 but it felt a struggle all the time. The second game was far more successful we banded together much better, though not in as large a group as they were to start with we got ourselves back together well as the game progressed. We eventually won 3-0 though it was a lot closer than it sounds, I think they had the same flag rushers as last time and they got hold of the flag quite a few times and on several occasions got halfway across the field but we were generally holding the field and soon defeated the small defence and returned the flag.
Prior to that I had a really fruitless time helping someone do an impossible quest in the badlands which I didn’t even have. What a pain it was and then at the end we had to defeat 2 ?? level elites!! Some chance, so I was pretty annoyed at the wasted time in the end.
Finished up back at STV to do the pearl and fish fin quests, its quite deep for these and unfortunately I don’t have any shiny scales so I can’t breath underwater which is a real pain in the proverbial – I drowned after killing an elite down there which was particularly annoying.
What to do tonight that is the question – I still have rb on my Shaman so could do him and I have full rb on the rogue and warrior so I could do those as I have a full weekend ahead of me it would be nice to have a lot of rb left. Answers on a postcard please!

Badlands

I am in the Badlands with the shammy, picked up a few quests but the drops seem pretty rare. The lag on the servers was pretty bad last night for the first hour. I thought it was a problem at my end as there had been problems with the wireless internet in the hotel. Anyway it seems OK there so I think I will grind there for a while and see if I can get into Ulderman, hopefully I can pick up a group though it was pretty quiet last night.

In STV with the mage with Helene a Warlock of the same level. We did OK but it doesn't seem as easy as it did for the shammy. We managed to gank a couple of lower level allies that were thee too which was pretty satisfying :) However we ran into huge resistnce problems later for level 37/38 mobs, the randomness of these resists seem to be flawed - the mobs seem to either resist nearlly everything or hardly anything, I had 1 mob resist about 6 spells on the trot and he had been going at a high resist ate before that anyway. Well died a few times on those and had to leave it with 2 still to kill :(

Keeerching

I levelled all of my chars at the weekend, though due to crap internet access I didn't get to do as much as I would have liked.

Mt chars are now
Oromebstard 40
Arastar 32
Theodread 28
Drogo 22

I also managed a first for me and that was killing someone who tried to gank me. It was in stonetalon, a level 25(may have been 23) elf hunter attacked my warrior (when he was 27th), I was just finishing off a shredder, I had seen the Hunter but because of our level difference I thought I would be OK. Anyway a ran at him and he proved as inept as me as he stood in front of me and tried to slug it - and I actually won - yippee, not by much though, still a wins a win :)

Did a couple of BG's with the Shaman and Clarissa a priest. We won both relatively easily, I think I was nearlly bottom ranked in the first (and outscored by the priest :( but top on the 2nd and I even managed a flag capture which is not like me. It was quite funny watching this thief trying to sneak up behind me whilst I was in the flag room, managed to kill him twice 1 on 1, he was lower level though! However I ran a few errands with the shammy, got my new skills at long last - new lightening bolt which crits for 500. Also bought heavy silk bandaging and mageweave bandaging so I have now got to 225 first aid - need to go back to Arathi to get this higher now. I also got my next level of skining so that has risen to 230 (consequently I am now skint). I also managed to get some new leather patterns so I am now at about 190 leatherworking. So the night wasn't a complete loss, just not far off. I went to WSG which we won in a 5v5 but I kept getting diconnected which was a real pain.
Well I shall be playing a lot this weekend so hopefully I will make 40th and get to play some of my alts which I haven't been doing recently.

Wot Again!

Played the shaman again last night, well I have a full rest bonus to use up! Was wandering around Arathi Highlands trying to do the first bit of freeing the princess, so I was in and out of thottbott. By the time I worked out where I was going I managed to join up with a group going to Stormgarde. I had 4 elite quests there so that was good. The group had 1 from Belgium, 1 from Denmark and 2 from Netherlands and me who is in Netherlands but is UK - amazing really. Well we blasted through Stormgarde really easily and completed all 4 quests in short order. Not a bad xp rate either, around 14k xp/hr. Nearlly 20 when I cashed in, remember I was messing about at the start trying to work out what to do. I managed to get some good drops too (no one could believe I had such crap gear), a helmet (plus another as a reward!), some gloves and a belt all with +10 ability increases which is about double what I did have. Also much of it improved my spirit so hopefully I will regenerate my mana much quicker, which has been a real pain of late. Well I haven't bought my level 28 skills yet so I need to do that at some stage and then its back to STV for me got about 5 quests yet to do there, some of which should be quite easy though there are a couple of elite ones which I will need to team up for. We killed a rogue a couple of times in Storgarde and played with a level 29 ally we found, sheeping him and bding him, it was like a cat with a mouse, but let him go in the end.
Well after all that I am now 1 bar off level 29, soooo close and thought I had better play some other characters really. Tried to play a few of them but the reception in the hotel started playing up so I didn't really get much done (except leave my dead rogue in the middle of nowhere). Also my laptop started overheating and shutting itself down, so time for sleep I thought, nighty night!

Bish Bosh

Took a friend over to show him the delights of STV last night with my mage. I died on the way to the village, and not even by an ally - lol, as they say don't stray from the path! Well after that we faired pretty well managing to complete 2 panther and 2 tiger quests which was OK. I managed to chase down another mage last night who had some very strange tactic of running into the water and then charged me, strange way to play a mage - dispatched her with suprising ease especially with my record on ganking! It was pretty quiet there I reckon all the alliance had gone to bed.
I was mainly trying to use up as much rest bonus as possible because it gets reset to maximum this morning and was 3 bars to go on the shaman and probably a level on the mage so didn't do particularly well! Still I have the weekend to play so that should be good.
My Shaman has several quests in Stormgarde, we tried to do that the night before last, 3 of us but we kept getting ganked by a larger group of alliance which was pretty annoying so we abondoned that. Must try and get a few of us together next time I am there, I have very few quests left in the area, nearlly time to head back to STV I think, must visit Kalgar 1st though and get the flightpath, though I have a quest in Hillsbrand first so the routes going to be interesting!

Free rest bonus!

Well due to blizz infrastructure being pants in Europe (why did they base themselves in France! Better not have a problem at lunchtime) we are all going to get max free rest bonus. The problems have been 3 fold from what I can gather, there is a problem with there payments system which meantthat a load of accounts were disabled. There were was a reboot of all servers last Tuesday which took 2 or 3 hours and after the reboot there were severe lagging problems. As people on the forums point out its not much recompense if you are level 60! Also when crediting people they don't take into account the disruption that this has caused, most players can only play in the evenings or weekends (when the payement problem occured). They appear to believe that because it was only disrupted in the evening then this doesn't warrant a full days credit - but for most people that is a full day. However what is really riling(sp?) people is that the website is usually down when everything else is so you can't find out whats happenned. What I find irritating is that if you go to the main wow site there is no reference eo, or even lin (that I can find) to the european site so it always takes ages to find. All very frustrating, this sort of service wouldn't be tolerated anywhere else, especially for a company that must be taking by my calculations £24,000,000 a month in subscription fees, thats a fair few servers, rooters, raid systems that would make this a true high availability system as it should be and for that money could be 20 times over.

Anyway rant over, so I need to take maximum advantage of this maxed rest bonus by using up as much rest bonus on all of my characters as possible. Only got 4 bars left on the shaman but I reckon that all of the others are probably at maximum rest bonus. Therefore I am going to concentrate on the mage tonight and hopefully get onto the rogue but won't be doing any runs to up my skills as this would waste a fair bit of time. Its going to be pretty traumatic for the mage as he is going to go to STV hopefully with a mate of mine (Helene - who is off sick at the moment!!!). My Shaman made level 38 last night nearlly high enough for my mount, now only if I could find the 29g I am short!

Talking of skills can anyone tell me where there is a descent leatherworker that I can learn some more stuff from, I am about level 170 and have run out of reds to do. Also can anyone tell me where I can learn heavy silk bandaging.

Wand?

Finished off the last of the quests I could be bothered with in 1kN, that was sacred flame and bumps in the road. Both times I managed to team up with someone which is good because they are pretty tough otherwise. The first team was odd, he wanted me to help him with the harpies which I did until we got a bad pull – this was caused by the usual, he was a hunter and his pet went charging off into the middle of a load of Harpies, 5 came for us and I was low on mana anyway so we both went down. Well he then shut down the party and wouldn’t return my messages – very strange. The 2nd team was with someone who was in the Croatian Inquisition – I said no one expects them and he got very confused until I explained and then he laughed but I think he was just being polite – so much for my shining wit.
I then tried to start the mage wand quest ugh not much chance there, died twice pretty rapidly so have decided to give that up as a bad job till later. So its off to STV for me as I am now level 31 and a big boy now!!
Played the warrior in AshenVale, had a couple of quests to do and decided to do them whilst queueing for WSG. Well I was just about to complete the 2nd quest when the opportunity to enter came up so I thought I would. Imagine my disappointment to find that the game had started and we were 2-1 down  Well I saw one of there blokes running for our base, but thought I would leave him and follow some of ours to their base as I thought they must know what they are doing, what a mistake to make. There was chaos round their graveyard I think we were, got a couple of kills and then the game ends, apparently they didn’t know what they were doing – so 2 kills for me great. Back to the quests, which I completed OK. Something I have noticed about the warrior is that he gets far more xp/he than any of my other chars which is odd as he does the least damage I think. I think the reason for this is that he pretty much never has to rest or bandage so there is no ‘down’ time and he hardly ever seems to die. He was hitting 22k xp / hr and I seldom get anywhere near that with the others.

Well have a good weekend another post on Monday proabably

Ganked

Well I was wandering round the 1kN, with my lvl 30 Mage, going to the Wyverns when this Dwarf warrior (IronHelm - 31) ganked me whilst I was fighting a Harpy. Well I managed to get away with a frost nova and a blink, so I recovered my mana and hp and went after the little blighter. He was having some trouble with the Harpies as he had tried to run through them, I think he may have seen me coming, but I couldn't return the favour there as some came after me too. Well we finally met the far side and he quickly did some 1st aid before I could get him, then he charged me (how do you stop them doing that - its really annoying) . Well after coming out of stun I Nova'd him and then a couple more frost bolts and a fire blast then I was stunned again (another shout I presume), well I Nova's him again and another frost bolt but then on the 3rd stun he had me though I had run him very close. I should have used a blink I reckon and I got caught with a couple of swings when he was in Nova, I guess I am not using it early enough - but a good crack none the less. Well went up to the Wyverns and who should I see there, the same dwarf. Well I though it was time to get some xp so I just waved and so did he, then he hugged me which I didn't think was totally necessary but it enabled me to continue with my quest. Unluckily for him another horde player on his mount wandered through and I came across his body later.
Later I was playing my Shaman and a mate of mine was showing me round Arathi Heights, some good questing there by the look of it. Well after we had finished I saw a NE Rogue there and as he was a Rogue thought I would gank him, so I hit him with 2 lightening bolts before he got to me (1 before he had noticed me!) then right in front of me he just vanished, how annoying and wtf did he do – he can’t have been more than a few pixels away – answers on a postcard please.

Poison - Muuuhaaa

A mate of mine helped me do the poison quest last night so my can now poison - yee haa (thanks Hellene). I haven't managed to use it yet but every little helps, I have had some good drops recently and have managed to send my rogue a dagger and a sword which do 18 and 17 dps respectively so that should be pretty good once he has gained a few levels to use them - roll on 25. I have also dropped a fair bit of armour which I have sent to my warrior which should give him about a 200 ap boost and he is actually high enough to use it.

On a more stupid note I got a purple drop wand and sold it - apparently this was a very stupid thing as they don't drop very often. Oh well I got a reasonable staff which I have sent to the mage.

Played the Shammy last night for a while b4 the poison quest, pretty much just grinding the Yeti's until some staff dropped, which by the time it did I had forgotton what I was there for! He is in Tarren Mill btw, there was a raid going on when I arrived, and was still going on when I left thats about 4 straight hours!! I managed to sneak through it all with my Rogue which I was pleased about, I am not usually the most subtle of Rogues! I had a reasonably good axe drop which I tried with my shammy on the Ogres up there - it had slightly more dps than my existing mace but was quicker, this actually seemed to result in less damage which was strange so I have given up on it for a while. I then walked to Hammerfell as I have some quests there - some more to do there also but I am not sure whether to do them or not, I don't like leaving quests so I probably will but I don't know the area too well so I will have to see how it goes. I have about 0.5 of a levels worth of rest bonus. By the way is it me or does the difference in level that things go grey at get higher the higher level u are?

Damn irritating

When you have made your post and it failed to save but ah you have a copy in the clipboard, great, then theres a power cut - damn. So I will write this post again.....
Played the shammy grinding the Ogres in Alterac, unfortunately couldn't find a quest to do whilst grinding. The Ogres work out at about 15k xp/hr which is not brilliant, later on I ground the Yeti's and was getting over 20k xp/hr which is approaching as good as I have managed so its Yeti's for me from now on. Had a strange encounter later a dwarf rogue!? (Named Jakkarta I think - thanks for not killing me anyway) on a goat (what a fine mount!) was watching me and we waved and thins he was level ??. Anyway he pointed at some other allies and kept saying no - now the interface is a bit difficult to communicate between the factions so I wasn't sure exactly what he meant and presumed he wanted me to leave them alone ( or did he want me to leave the Ogres alone?). ANyway the allies can over and I think he told them to leave me alone because after a few swings the rogue which I could see sneaking up on me stopped attacking after a few hits. Well anyway a few minutes later they attacked and killed me :( didn't stand much chance against 3 really even though they for 4 to 7 levels lower and as usual I was slow on the uptake of what was happening so was half dead before I could do much. As usual I was short on mana and consequently hp, I have got to do something about this it is really affecting my grinding, especially as I get bored and attack even though I am on about 1/3 or less of each - this has another unpleasant side affect, I get killed easily by gankers.
Well I broke off from the shammy halfway through the evening because a mate of mine was going into BG and I thought I would try and join them. Unsuprisingly they got in just before I got there but I thought I would try and get in anyway. Whilst waiting I managed to complete the Satyr horns quest for a few less deaths! This gave me a level and I managed to buy my skills before I got called into BG. Well we won 3-1 but it wasn't really much of a victory as they had 6 players and we had 10 and I managed to die 6 times to 4 finishing blowswhich is pretty bad as I hadn't died till a bout halfway through - too cocky I guess! The funniest event was a first timer who had managed to get the flag but didn't know what to do with it - he had run to our base but was running around underneath where the graveyard is. It worked quite well as they allies came in ones and twos and were easy meat! I think charge is a pretty strong skill in this environment especially against mages and I set up a lot of killing blows by stunning people as they were trying to run away. Oh and they should cut down all the bloody trees and bushes in there - I keep losing people in them, I need to pull my camera out a bit I reckon.

Well this is longer than the first post but if it fails this time I ain't doing another!

Horns of a dilemma

Well not actually but it would have been a good pun if it had been. I was hunting Satyr horns in Ashenvale with the warrior whilst waiting to get into BG, very good xp (17k / hr) even though I died a lot, couldn't handle 2 pulls at all of which you get quite a few. Didn't quite complete the quest so I will have to go back again, I am just a smidgeon off level 28 and I have 2 or 3 quests to complete in Ashenvale so thats going to be no problem and I should get halfway to the next level. I will have to go after the brutal armour I think soon though it looks like a pretty tough quest from what I have read in Thottbot.
I played te rogue earlier, I am after the poison quest and managed to get the key but got no further so I switched to the warrior in a huff!
Gonna play the Shaman tonight I think though I must admit I am enjoying playing the mage, I am at least beginning to work out what I shoud be doing with the different types of character even if I too slow to pull it off. I fought a shaman in duel yesterday with my warrior, well I say fought, it was a bit irritating really he kept putting down totems to slow me down and I therefore couldn't get near him to hit him so I got bored and wandered off. What I should have done is knock them out till he was out of mana which he soon would have been and then he would have been mine but there you go.

Oh dear! oh dear

Played the mage again last night to cash in the quests I had completed. As suspected I was dead on arrival, that always seems to happen when the line drops:( Well I levelled on cashing in the 1st quest so I thought I would have a look at the Shimmering Flats as I was now 29, one of my favorite places. Well there were no Alliance ganking scumbags about so it was pretty easy really, the mobs round there don't wander much so you seldom get bad pulls. Completed hard shells, racer parts, lightening the load and poison somethings and levelled again woot woot. Now heres a problem I came across I was OK vs lvl 30-31 mobs but against 32 they resist your spells a lot more. The result of this is that mages(and other spellcasters) really struggle against much higher level mobs whereas rogues/warriors/hunters don't have the too much trouble. Took me 4 attempts to take down a level 32, yes I know I'm stubborn. Also I didn't die once in the flats so I must be doing something OK, I do tend to forget about cone of cold though! Well I picked up Ice Block last night and for the life of me I can't see much point, I didn't have any bandages or anything so couldn't try those out but it seemed a bit of a waste of time. No doubt I will work out the tactics soon. Whilst we are on the subject of pretty pointless theres not a fat lot of difference between ice armour and frost armour, why bother having 2!!
Well I got my new spells and thought I would have a go in BattleGrounds as I was top of the tree - or so I thought, there was a level 31 Alliance in there, strange!
Well the first game went pretty well it was quite close though we slightly outnumbered the allies, to be honest I think they were the better team and we won 3-2. I can reasonably high up the tree with 14 killing blows(judiciously picking out the low level oppo's) and 10 deaths 54 HK, however many of the allies had 80 or 90 HK's which was pretty impressive. Have I said I hate rogues, no well I do. I also hate gnomes, as I have said somewhere before its like being savaged by a doll. Well I really really hate gnome rogues and I presume its cheap shot that has me stunned for 30 seconds, bloody rediculous in that environment.
So with head held high I signed up for the next BG and we were in in about 5 secs woot. Well this is where the heading refers to! We had 6 to their 10 needless to say our tactics reflected our being outnumbered by charging into the middle of the field and getting cut to pieces. It must have been the quickest game of BG ever, I reckon it must have taken as long as it took their players to run from one end to the other 3 times, and that damn Gnome Rogue was in there again, Snipet I think his name was. Well at the end of it I had 2 kills had died twice and had 4HK - is that the lowest score ever. Whats even funnier is that I was the highest scorer on the Horde side, wtf were the rest doing!
Well I tried to get back in but at 1:50am I gave up, I had been waiting a while by then, it was a laugh though!

12 o'clock curfew

Well I(Shaman) managed to ge me a new shield and a hat on the AH. I wasn't buying expensive stuff so they cost me less than a gold between them and it boosted my armour points by about 500. That means I absorb 33% of damage instead of 29% which is a pretty good return on that investment. I tried to sell some gathered stuff but no one was interested :(
I then went on as the mage who I haven't played for a while, I was looked forward to this as I have just realised what a strong build he is going to be. There are loads of really good skills to choose from (many I should have done already probably). Well he does pretty well one on one and I'm getting better at sheeping too, I skill I seldom use. I am in 1Kn and was going to do the grimtotem spy etc quests but I was struggling a bit, I find if my frost Nova gets resisted I'm pretty much toast (though I do keep forgetting about the mana shield). Fortunately a mate of mine came on (Clarissa 31 priest) and we breezed through the quest along with Anak whatsits Hoof and the guiding quest at the end (the first escort quest I have successully competed). We then went on to do the assassins quest (well I did) and then the elite panther quest. It was then that another couple turned up to do the same quest, Sosa and someone else, well for some reason they just opened the cage without trying to join up anyway the damn thing goes for me so I start blasting away at it and in the end we end up with t he kill and the completed quest. I had tried to speak to them but, I mistakenly did so in the party channel (wot a buerk) - anyway the message is come on guys be sensible we could all have completed it easy and with next to no loss of xp. I hung around with Sosa to do the quest again but my link went down just as the Panther had left the cage, wot perfect timing - anyway sorry Sosa there was nothing I could do. I couldn't get back on either, it was OK this morning so hopefully I will get a good night to night. I have an extra hours sleep to burn! You would think I would be wide awake but I feel worse than ever - lol.

Oh on another thing, to those of you that killed me in STV the night before as I was logging on, well done very brave.

Worlds worst Ganker

Well I needed half a levels worth of xp for level 36 so it was time to brave the dangers of STV again. Fortunately there weren't anywhere near as many Allies as previously so it proved pretty easy to complete several quests - 1 panther, 1 tiger, 1 of the 2 combined, 1 raptor, and the gems from the geologists. So I have 2 elite quests to do now, which I will need some friends for (come Clarissa get levelling!). Well whilst wandering around I came across a night elf hunter and me and this other bloke decide to have a go, anyway he dissapeared? Didn't know they could do that, is it some sort of racial traight, he was a night elf? Well after that I saw another hunter 2 levels lower than me so I thought I would have this one, well things didn't go as planned and I was completely owned, is that supposed to happen toShammys, funny how that never happenned to me when I was a hunter. Well after that I saw a warrior(same level) and thought well they have got o be easy haven't they so I get off a lightening bolt before he manages to charge me then I get owned again :( I must be doing something wrong, my aged fingers aren't as nimble as most but still I don't think it should have been as bad as that. I am going to have to start using my totems a lot more I think. Heres regretting refusing all those duels earlier on, I will have to try a few from now on.
I funny thing happenned after that (I was carefully avoiding any allies after that). A pally or warrior didn't notice which, name of Private Cornwall, saw me grinding and decided to get of his horsy and have a go, well he was lvl ?? and I was already fighting so he killed me pretty quick but he was so keen to kill me that he had attracted the attention of 2 elite Ogre mobs and a tiger, it was funny watching him, before I rezzed, trying to run away whilst these 3 mobs beat the crap out of him. He must have been pissed he stayed in the area and cleared it out - that'll teach him to pick on greys.

Well having levelled and cashed in (I was doing 18k/hr this night) it was time for the long treck to the Undercity, the first running of the Eastern Continent Marathon. Well get to Duskwind OK and managed to avoid the town which rather irritatingly completely covers the crossrads and all the space round it. Well that was my first wrong turn, I ended up in Deadwind Pass (I'm sure it said Deadmans pass in game), after being chased by a mob and another look at my map I decided that was wrong and headed back to Duskwind. Skirted that and then went through the Redridge mountains and through lakeshire, got some strange looks there! Then up into the Burning steps, thats not a very nice place! I took a wrong turn and started heading up to the Ruins of Thaurissan and got killed, back west after that (why didn't I notice there was a wind rider there :( ). Well I then made a fatal error and went round Blackrock and ended up atthe Alter of Storms, not before having died twice to some elite dragonkins. Well it looked like if a swam through the lava I would be able to scale the hills on the other side. Needless to say I died in the lava, took a while for my body to come back, anyway, I spawned myself the other side and started to climb, not for long though, I seemed to reach some invisible barrier that wouldn't let me travel any further - bums. So its back through the lave, I managed to survive this time 8hp left. I then remembered that Psyae had said go through Balckrock, so I headed back that way only to be killed by the *&"% elite dragonkin again. Well my armour was toast by now and as there were no carbohydrate drinks available I decided to abandon the marathon for another day. Well I am in Orgrimmer now (having been to the Undercity to discover that they don't have SHaman trainers - doh), have put some bids in on some gear, most of mine is for level 21. Got my new skills, nothing to write home about though. I have a bank full of leather which I need to convert into something but there are no decent leatherworkers in Org so I can't get many high level stuff.

Hard to stay ALive

I seemed to spend most of last night running back to my body in STV. There seemed to be Hordes of Alliance there. Fortunately the graveyard is close by but I reckon it must have cost me 5k an hour. I guess its going to be like this from now on - the problems with a PvP server I guess. I spent most of my time wandering around trying to find somewhere out of the way where no one else was about. I would be there a couple of minutes and some gnome sh*t would pop up behind me whilst I was fighting obviously. There were a lot of hunters about too. I even got run down whilst in wolf form which is particularly irritating. Well I eventually made level 35 and am most of the way to 36. I completed the first 2 tiger and panther quests the first raptor quest and 2 of the troll bloodrage quests (headhunters and some necklaces). Seen no sign of the pristine fang or the panther fangs for one of the other quests. I got some of the crystals off the basalisks but they don't seem to drop very often. I hardly have any quest room left either. I may have a go at walking to the undercity tonight once I make level 36, Should be OK for a laugh and it may be handy having the other flight paths for later. I still have nearlly half a levels rest bonus left which is good - and bad it means I can't use a full rest bonus in a night which means I will play the other characters less.

Blown Out

Well last night was a complete waste of time, I couldn't retrieve my characters from the server(Bloodfeather) for over an hour. I eventually got in and flew to where I was going to do some quests and a message comes up saying "Server Shutting down in 7:00"!!! 7 what FFs, it turned out to be minutes. Apparently there was something wrong with the database - Just read the threads and it came back up in about 2.5 hours, too late for me though. Obviously I will be compensated for in for in full for my lack of access!!!!
Well I have an Alt on Sunstrider so played him for a while but I haven't played him for a couple of months so just bummed around really. He is a level 28 Hunter and is in 1kN - I must admit I can't work out how to get talents for my pets. You are supposed to do it by getting different talents and then you can transfer them between each other but I just never seem to get the option - one day I may learn.
Well as I said I was blown off so not a lot else to say really, I should have downloaded some add-ons thats what I usually do when the servers are down but I forgot, which is a shame as I need to update some of them.

Musings

Well after fannying around as my Mage the night before, I made sure he got a level this time round. Did the latest mage robes quest and then went to 1kN and back to Thunderbuff to level, he only had about 10k to level and that was easily done as I had several quests outstanding. I struggled using the talent point, I am an ice mage and there are so many good things to choose from it was very hard, I eventually put the point in shatter, which I hope to max out.
Played the rogue after that in southern barrens but as all my characters have been there it would be a bit boring to relate so I won't. On levelling I walked to Thunderbluff where I hadn't been before on arriving there I could find a rogue trainer, I asked on general speak where he was and some one quite rightly pointed out that cows aren't very good at sneaking about!
Well on to some musings, this is a bit old but the last patch that came Iactually managed to download from the Blizzard server in a reasonable amount of time, bout time they sorted that out. The last patch I downloaded from an alternative site that they direct you too one of which you had to pay for!! I was pretty pissed about that, they screw up the downloading and then want us to pay more to put it right, theres something wrong there. Anyway things seemed to have improved so thats good.
I was looking at our server stats(BloodFeather) last night and we have a 1.2:1 ratio of alliance to Horde which is much better than most servers, they are mostly 1.4:1. Indeed it seems that the Horde players are more active as for much of the time there are more Horde on the system than Alliance. Another interesting thing is the times that players are on - there are more Alliance on during the day and more Horde on during the early hours of the morning, something to do with shunning the light I suspect :) During the evening the Horde gradually catch upto the Alliance, which is handy for me as I log on quite late. Now what does this tell us about the type of people who play the respective factions. My hypothesis is that many younger players play alliance (especially as it is holiday time now) and less play Horde, or more to the point older people play Horde - the theory being that if you are working (or a student) you play into the early hours because thats the only time you can get any peace (and the pubs are shut) so you are playing rather than sleeping. I would be interested if anyone out there knows if there is an age breakdown of players by faction - it may be interesting (though only marginally) to find out what ages are most prevelant for what class and race. I have noticed that there are an awful lot of human players out there, personally I would have thought that was the most boring of races to play.

Mage makes first kill!

Decided to play the warrior last night he is in the South Barrens and he completed ‘betrayals’, ‘quillboar weapons’ (why do we have to bring back a shield from the warriors when they are duel wielding?) the 3 Gann quests, and the funny little dwarf man quest with some help! Then went back to Ratchet and picked another quest to get some iron ore – haven’t seen that one before, its got quite a good reward too of a 18dps sword. I need to do the warrior quests for the armour and am going to do it with a mate of mine, when he comes back from holiday. He was running at 18k/hour which was pretty good I thought, especially as there is a fair bit of running about. I only died once which was pretty good for me.
Played the mage then and wasted my time really, sold someone a bit of the manual for 20sp which was nice, then went to the place on the coast, but everything is too low level there. Tried to do the quest to kill the Hydra (twice) but failed which is pretty pants at my level really, I died in the same blow as they did. I also did my first kill a hunter (Ageless) I happened across, I did feel a bit guilty though he was fighting at the time and I am not sure he even realised I was attacking him. I saw him again later but let him run away, to be fair he was 5 levels lower than I. He ended up doing 4k xp an hour how crap is that!

Stranglethorn

Well Psyae wasn't kidding when he said it is a GankFest other there. I had decided to have a change from Desolace and had heard the Stranglethorn was good for XP, I also had a couple of quests to complete there (I am pretty full on quests at the moment). I also had a quest in Ratchet so I thought I would go via Boot Bay, although there were a lot of alliance running around and seemed to be a bit of a battle going on they left me alone, which was nice as I really needed to get to Grol'dum (sp) camp where it is a bit nearer my level. Got there without incident and pick up a number of quests - there are far more than in Desolace, I had to dump quite a few to load them! Started doing the raptor quest and noticed a druid (Hit by name) who was doing the same sort of thing. I thought about ganking him but he seemed to be doing better against the Raptors than me (he was 1 level higher) so I thought I would leave him. Was just about to have a go at another raptor when suddenly he pounced, a skill I didn't know Druids had some sort of invisible demon I think it was. Well I was holding my own against him I think when some high level Hordes came along and finished him off. Thats when it started getting a lot nastier - I'm merrily killing Raptors when back comes Hit and 3 or 4 of his mates, well Iddin't last long (one was higher than 40) and they got me a couple of times. I did get the high level one back (Perrin - is that name allowed) when he had run away from some others and ended up fighting 2 raptors - thought it would be safe to attack then!
After a couple of other fights I thought I would try a quieter area to finish the raptors off and came across Lulu I think it was who I shamelessly ganked (he/she was on 3/4 hp). Then got ganked (was at about 1/3 hp) back by a warrior(37) who I had seen earlier but hadn't fancied so that was a bit annoying.
After that I decided to go for the trolls, well thats where I really started getting ganked, got done by the same group we were fighting earlier, then thought I would move further in land and that seemed to be some sort of Rogue enclave - I was ganked, quiet badly to was always either fighting or was between 1/4 and 1/2 hp and less mana. One Rogue I had seen and left alone and he pounced on me about 30 secs later, I won't be making that mistake again!) The Rogues were levels 37, 40 & 42.
Well I probably ended up dieing 3 for each kill, but I was trying to concentrate on the quests and grinding rather than PvP - perhaps be more aggressive in future, though I seem to be burning mana like water at the moment, the crits are good though lightening bolt does over 350 now when it crits!

Zzzzzzzzzzz

Well I got on on Friday night, half an hour at the airport (as I had to do some other stuff anyway) and then 2 or 3 hours in the evening. Played the rogue for a while but can't remeber if I levlled him or not, did I mention I have to get up at 4 o'clock in the morning on Mondays to fly over to NL, so I am a bit fuzzy this morning.
Later I playedthe Shaman and did the quests on the coast to get the clam meat and kill some merman type things. They were both reasonably easy, I only died when I did some stupid things. Theres some other treasure quest there which I picked up but I only found 1 key, theres loads of locked boxes around for which you presumably need to keys to open. Well at the end of the day I levelled so I am now 34th, I think I will travel over to the Eastern continent and do some questing there, any advice on where to go(polite pls) would be appreciated, I was thinking of Stranglethorn as I have a few quests there anyway!

Another day another Gank

Played the mage last night. The mage has become my least favorite character, its just not in my psychy(sp) to run away and hit again I think. I do OK but when they resist my frost nova a certain amount of panic sets in, especially as I am usually running at the time anyway. I also seem to have a very nasty habit if running into another MOB (just what does that stand for!) and having just used my frost Nova even more panic ensues! He does certainly whack out the damage though even though it seems strange to me that there is no critical chance increase talent (except the one when they are frozen which I will start buying next I think). Having looked at the fire tree I reckon that that is far stronger but possibly not as flexible, mind I started with frost and thats what I am going to use!
Well I was in AshenVale last night and no sooner had I arrived (having not been there before I had to walk) then I get this bloody arrow over my head, bloody hunters. There is nothing that makes you panic more than having that on you, I must admit he nearlly got me a couple of times and it was only because I was standing next to the gaurds that I survived I think. Well another mage arrived and we chased him off eventually, I had just about worked out a strategy but I am just too goddam slow. Well after that I am wandering around trying to get back to where the nightrunners are for the quest just outside Splintertree when 2 allies on horse back, stop get off there horses and kill me. Just what pleasure do they get from that, from this end its f*****g annoying I wander back and who's sniffing round my body but that bloody hunter again. I wait a minute or two to get bored and then back to the fray and 5 minutes later a Pallidan on horseback sees my jumps off, I try to run, I blink, and try a FN which yet agin they resist and he kills me in a blow, great, I hope he enjoyed it. They should take off honour from people if they kill someone say 10 levels below them I reckon at least for 1 on 1 anyway (or even 2 on one as in the first encounter).
Back to the main points I guess - I did the Satyr Horns quests for the first time with any character, took quite a while as there were quite a few people there. It was handy anyway as I had a mage quest to fill a bottle of water just past them and some really nasty 28-30 level Mobs, fortunately I met a Warlock who was after something they had so we teamed up and did OK, only died once. Its a terrible area for getting bad pulls (is that a double negative?). Well did the sacred flame quest next then the water elementals and headed off to the coast - forget the name! Well time for bed by then, I wanted to make 2 levels (now 27) but the meter reckoned it would take 2.5 hours and it was 1:30 by then anyway so I thought I had better call it a day.

Boring

Not sure I did anything worth mentioning last night, though I will anyway! Levelled the warrior quite easily in the barrens as he is in an area he is too high level for really. That was the start of the warrior quests, which hopefully I will be doing with another warrior mate of mine in a few weeks. I thought I would comlpete the second part which was talking to a smith, well that took some finding, I hate it when they are on top of a hill, what a daft place to live!
Played the Rogue after that and got killed by a giant parrot, which you can't sneak past! I will have to play the mage next, he is in Orgrimmer at the moment and has done most of the quests in the barrens and stontalon now, so I guess its AshenVale, which I don't know too well so it will be ineteresting I guess!

Blue balls

I still had half a levels rest bonus on the shaman so I thought I would play him again last night, and cash a couple of quests. Thankfully they gave more reward than the last one, about 3-4k. I got another quest to get the kolkar ears and one to get a human test dummy (where do you get this I'm sure I have seen it but can't find it at the moment). Well xp seems a lot easier to come by now, the new level has really made a difference, the stormers seem to be really good for xp but you never seem to get any good drops off them. I farmed the gelts for the ears, its a terrible place to be near tht road - I kept getting ganked (3-4 times). One of which was a level 35 priest who I found again - he wasn't too keen to have a fight when he couldn't sneak up on me and attack whilst I was already halfway through a MOB. The chicken ran off, pathetic! I stopped after collecting my ears and running out of rest bonus and switched to the thief.
If yuou remember way back when! the thief is in Orgrimmer(and I remembered to get the lock pick quest this time!) and I went to get miners fortune and what a pain that was, I cleared out the guards where it usually drops 5 times before it dropped and then it dropped on one of the overseers in the tower - have the reduced the drop rate or moved it? Well completed raptor horns (one short of the barrel of beer quest also:( )and the nuts - had my only death there when I pulled about 3 all at once. Went to Ratchet to do the lockpick quest and the lost items stuff - half the things I don't get xp for now :( so it was pretty easy, especially with a couple of buffs I got. Couldn't do the lockpick quest before I was too tired cos I had to go back for the ECAC. Still I had already levelled so it wasn't too bad.

Level Update (if I can remember):-
OromeBstard 33
Arastar 26
Theodread 25
Drogo 19

Still got half a rest bonus on the thief and the warrior and mage must be full now so may play the rogue for a little while then switch to the warrior tonight - I have a hankering for CTF too!

Additional
The point of the title which I forgot to put in - doh, was that the lightning balls you have as a shaman are a big giveaway - firstly you can be seen from miles away and secondly the Shaman is the only one that has them so you are immediately noticeable as Horde. Its best not to use in ghostwolf form as you are nearlly invisible without this. Anyway thought I would try and reveal the mystery of the title doh.

Wot no post

Well I was in La Belle France this weekend so wasn't in work (yes I write this at work) to write up a note.

Played the Shaman last night, he is still in Desolace. I just can't seem to get the kill rate up there, I was killing Gelt Kolkars and the highest I could manage was 13k an hour. Some 7k short of what it was in 1kN. I don't know whether they just don't kill as quick cos there higher level or that they don't give as much xp. It seems pretty dangerous there too, got caught by a few alliance, managed to escape a few times but thats pretty difficult to do for a shaman so I have found. Managed to get one of them to run into 3 Horde players too which was particularly satisfying! I think overall I came off worse though killed about 3 and died probably 6 times, though one was a v high level priest I think who killed me with DOT spells as I was running away :( I eventually managed to level through having met another shaman who was doing a different quest which fortunately I had and he showed me where to complete a quest I was looking for too - 650xp for about 2 hours killing gelts I was not impressed!
My talents are not improving me much at the moment as I have just switched trees, so I am improving my shield block! Another 2 to go, going to go for 21 pts in that tree to get parry.

Oddly Euphoric

Started out with the mage last night, he has a stack of rest bonus so I wanted to use most of that and gain a level, he was halfway to lvl 26. I was in Stonethalon and went to the Charred Lands, things started out well then got ganked by a couple of nightelves. Went back ganked again and again (really nice of them level 29&32 against my 25 and they wait till I am fighting something before attacking and halfway down on hp - so honorable! Typical alliance scum tactics) and died cos spawned where there are a load of mobs around - so said fuckit and played the warrior!
He was in ThunderBluff and I had some warrior skills to pick up (execute mmm yummy) I remembered to get the flightpath this time so I don't need to walk back. Did the kill 60 quillboars and the other related quest, struggled to find ones I got xp for (too high level cos of all the WC runs I reckon). Well it was all so easy, seemed to be critically a huge amount now and had no problem taking 3 on at a time. However I wasn't as good as I thought as I found out in a duel with a mage which I lost (I nearlly always do) - he sheeped me at the beginning which was strange as he had nova'd me anyway - but hey he still won! Did another mob quest and went back to Turango - having levelled, now 25.
Having calmed down with my success thought I would go back to the mage who was in ghost form! Died again twice in quick succession :( There are many wandering monsters - who wander a long way so you are always getting attacked when you least need it. Then it went OK , teamed up with a druid who seem pretty strong and finished 4 quests there. I had levelled to 26 so went back to Orgrimmer to skill up and it looks like AshenVale for me know, I have 3 quests there already. Got some nice new spells too, cone of cold and upgrade to frostbolt which will be really handy. Still have half a level of RB but won't be on till Monday night now as I am away this weekend. So all in all I felt oddly euphoric at the end even though it had been really annoying at the beginning.

Goddam

Pretty frustrating evening last night. Played the rogue for a while, did Samauphalnge quests quite esily and Echykee, cashed in (and the centaur binds) went back to get the knuts in the swamp and some bastard went after my bucket whilst I was fighting - just killed one off and then got attacked by another 2 and killed. Then died again, attacked by a giant emu(plainstrider) which was hiding in a rock! - its a helluva way from Xroads. Went after miners fortune and died again, when Rogues start taking damage they die really quick, sprint failed to save me twice. Anyway gave up and rezzed then flew back to Orgrimmer as I had levelled - frustration number 1.
Then thought I would try the shaman in the new area (too me) Desolace, well its pretty hard really, I'm usually next to dead after any win and any bad pull seems to kill me (though I did seem to be able to run away pretty easily). There doesn't seem to be a fat lot of quests there I have picked up about 8 but none of them seem to be linked, I was struggling to do 9kxp/hr (the Rogue was doing 20!! Well got ganked twice by different level 39 night elf hunters, had a wander round see if I could find them but there was no sign so I gave up.
Not that its much consolation but my mate had a frustrating night too!

Its a long way to Desolace

First of, the number of visits to the site went up quite a bit yesterday, I put it doen to the comment from Gorgeous Georgina and her interesting profile!
On to the business at hand - My warrior (Theodread) had a lot of quests to cash in and some bags to empty after the last night in WC so I sold all I could (quite dissapointing price on a lot of the bosses stuff). Went to Ratchet first for the start of glowing shard quest, back to over WC and WC then a walk to Turanjo, on which I found to mt horror that I am too high level to get xp from the quillboars - doh. I had a couple of quests to finish there too, then it was off to Thunderbuff - another long walk (I mustn't have tagged the windrider last time I was there :( so I must remember to do that this time, also need to get my new skills) that was it for him, I was doing 16k/hr just cashing in quests even with all that walking!
Switched to the Shaman, I only have 1 more quest in 1kN which was in the shimmering flats, not too hard there now though the level 35's are a struggle (never did find Steelsnap) - I was doing 19kxp/hr here. I levelled so went to Thunderbuff, did some leatherworking (thanks Jon for the agility potions, got 4 points) have managed to boost this to 165 now. Skinning is stuck at 225 as I can't afford the 5gp to getthe next level). I thought I would try desolace, it looked to me on some maps I had that you could walk there from TB, well if you can I couldn't find it, took me 45mins to get there, how exiting was that, not! There has to be a better wat. did 1 bar of xp on discovering places!

3rd Time Lucky

I was due to play the warrior again last night so I thought I would see if anyone was doing WC – give it a last go to get that 15dps sword. As ever there was a group going in, 2 shamans and with me 2 warriors. We managed to pick up a mage too. Took quite a while to get going but we eventually started, we were pretty slow getting to the entrance, then someone decided to run for it, so I followed and the others didn’t oops, 1 death before we got in. Got back and retrieved him then started the dungeon proper. Anaconda was in an unusual place, over the other side of the ravine. Fortunately no one else had a map so as I only needed serpentus I took us over that way. Well we worked quite well from then on, I was tanking – with I was patchy at though I maintained the attention of the bosses when we were fighting them and the huge shambler near Serpentis – mind there was some good healing going on. Just how as a fighter do you maintain aggro? Did OK I think but there were times when I just couldn’t hold it, was doing reduce armour’ – my tactic was generally to rush in in battle mode, do an ‘armour reduction’ switch to defence mode and do a taunt (cos I have inevitably lost the mobs attention by then) then do ‘reduce armour’ but once lost I don’t seem able to regain it.
Anyway we managed to get all four and then started the last section with the Tauren waking up the bloke on the rock, one of the team left at this point. Well we did OK until the very end when this big walking fish took us all out except the mage – the others walked back rezzed us – we died again! Then we actually managed to get organised again and kill it off. Lo and behold the first blue drop I have seen, a bloody cloth cloak! Got all this Murgos stuff now, not that I know what to do with it.
In conclusion YIPPEEEE I can get my 15dps sword, but guess what dropped that I managed to roll for and get!!! A 15dps mace can you believe it! Not only that but I managed to level now 24th. Will have to cash it all in tonight though as we finished pretty late last night but I guess it was worth it. Not sure I will bother trying it with my Rogue though.

Stormy weather

Well shitty weather meant that I wasn’t able to get out in the garden on Saturday so managed to get some wow in. Played the Shaman and cleared out most of the rest of his quests in 1kN, I will go to the shimmering flats and try and do some quests there then I will move on to Desolace I think, hopefully I will get some decent drops there my gear is getting seriously out of date now! During this time managed to level him, now 31 – I have been trying to get some minor agility potions so that I can level my leatherworking cheaply so haven’t been doing any leatherworking, stuck on 147! Anyway my bank account is full of leather now so I really really need to get to 150 so that I can use some of the 80 pieces of heavy leather I have!
Played the mage for a few hours and went to the Southern Barrens, thought I would get the last things for Chens Ale and then do some of Ganns quests, met a group there who were doing a quest I hadn’t done before, something of the moon. Anyway we did this, eventually, we contrived to get a really bad pull and instead of running tried to fight our way through – doh. On resurrecting one ‘silly person’ managed to pull a stack of stuff again before we had re-buffed so we all died again  Next time was better. I also managed to get to do the last 2 of Ganns quests which was nice. I’ve sent him back to Stonetalon now (did the machines quests on the way). Anyway ¾ of level done – nearly 26!

4 levels in 1 evening!

Well I would have done if it wasn't for those pesky kids. That was the target, I gave up at 12:55 having done 3.5 levels not a bad evenings work. I completed 18 quests - should have been 20 but I forgot to pick one up in Orgimmer when I was getting my new skills. So the rogue is now level 17, with 1 quest to cash and another 5 or 6 that I have lined up, though I need to pick some more up from Ratchet. I have found that the kolkar are pretty easy meat, seem to do stacks of damage to them and most things without armour, though when you get to the turtles I didn't seem to do much to them.
Was it just me or did there seem to be some good drops last night, I got a dagger 8.5dps (thats 2 I have now - thanks Jon) - got some green boots*2, pants, bracers, gloves and an axe. Far more than normal, I was tempted to farm with the shaman as he could do with some good stuff.

Wot no levels

Yes I know, a nights playing and not a level gained! I played the Shaman who was 200xp into the new level. Did the Wyverns quest and tried to get some Agave’s for the flame quest – god they are rare – also everytime I went their there was someone else doing the same thing! Was doing about 18k/hr at the Wyverns – probably the best yet. Got some good drops though a ring +5 stamina and a 2 handed axe – 20dps(why do I keep getting those). When I was nearly finished someone was asking for people to help kill the big cat quest – I hadn’t done that so I thought I would give it a go – wot a mistake to make. I had died so had 10mins of death sickness, regardless the warrior (the other was a mage) attacked anyway – he promptly died and we ran away. He then had to get his sword repaired so by the time he got back my sickness was over.
The agreed plan was that the warrior would take the agg I would heal the mage would do the damage and the warrior would stay near my totems. Just about to start and the bloody warrior charges in – b4 I have chance to set my totems! I then start healing and the warrior freezes (apparently the twit minimized his window) so the agg comes off, the cat kills the mage and me (got him down to only a few hp). The bloody warrior comes back and finishes him off – gets all the xp 500 and the gizmo – I come back and no body so I still haven’t completed the damn quest – ffs – I wasn’t amused, my kill rate had dropped to 13.5k
Lagged quite badly last night – hope this isn’t a sign of things to come, the hotel man that looks after the wireless internet is going away for 2 weeks!! Omg
Went to Orgrimmer, via helping a mate do the rogue poison quest, did another quest on the way, samauphlange manual which was grey, I got 180xp –I won’t bother doing any grey quests again! Put the axe and a sword I had (18dps) into the AH, hopefully I will get a couple of golds – I need it. Was left with 2 or 3 bars to level (yes I know I could have levelled)
Moved my Rogue to Xroads ready for a level fest – got about 15 quests he can do, all of which I am familiar with!

Quillboars

Me and a mate of mine decided to try and do some quests together last night, we have been trying to get organised on the same bit for quite a while but failed miserably even though we are often on at the same time and have a lot of characters at the same sort of level. Well we managed last night he (Priest 26 - Clarissa) and my Mage (24), the quests were 'enemies from within' and one collecting different types of weapons. We did them with ease, the new spells at level 24 really made a difference, we then went on to do Ganns quest. The pair seemed to work reasonably well together and we managed to kill upto 4 Mobs at once (should have been 3 but I shot the wrong Mob and brought another down on us - as my mate said - git). Well we were managing about 9.5k an hour, then we had to cash some quests and that put it upto 13.5k, this compares with 15k when I was soloing without doing quests. Sorry the moral of the story is - be a miserable git and grind on your own if you want to power level, its about 50% more efficient.

After cashing in the quests we split up and I ground out the last 2.5 bars I needed for the next level.

I'm going to see how many levels I can get my Rogue up tonight or maybe tomorrow in Xroads. He's in Silverpine so I thought I would quickly ship him over and a string of mis-adventures ensued, firstly I got on the wrong airship so had to come all the way back again. Then when I eventually arrived in Orgrimmer I got ganked as soon as I got off by a level 60 - I thought that was Horde territory and as such they couldn't attack me - not to mention the level difference. Pah anyway I got to the entrance of Orgimmer and am sat there at the moment, awaiting my grind in Xroads. Mind I might play the Shaman he hasn't done much for a while so will have planty of rest bonus - you will have to await tomorrows exiting episode to see what I choose! Can you wait that is the question.

*&%" WC

What is it with WC that attracts loads of wasters that abondon it halfway through. I made my 3rd attempt with my warrior last night to do the 'leaders of the wolf' quest and get my shiny new 15dps sword. I have to say that this group has got to be the worst lot I have been with, it had quite a good makeup - priest, warlock, mage, hunter and myself all 20-24. First off we didn't do the port quest, OK by me I had already done this on my 1st foray. Then we all get killed before making it to the entrance of the dungeon, with 2 mobs still to kill the rest of the party decide to move on and then make a run for the entrance to the instance - doh. Obviously we all get mullered except the priest funnily enough, great you may think - but oh no - he is at the instance and can't make it back to rez us as there are too many MObs in the way, so it back to the graveyard and a long walk. Next we actually get inside the instance kill a few Mobs then we get in a bigger fight, someone I think scares a load of Mobs and the whole cavern starts coming down on us. Being the brave warrior that I am I decide to peg it and make it back to the entrance alive. The priest has decided to give up at this point (without having the curtesy to tell anyone - I hope he had a good excuse), so we decide to go on with just the 4 of us and to my great suprise we actually do rather well (was it the priest before!). Anyway we kill Anaconda, Cobrain and Pythas, unfortunately 3 of us died at this point (mainly due to the fact that with 1 MoB left they decided to start looting instead of killing it off which left me trying to kill an elite with only 1/3 of my HP left) and we all had to run back, but we had attracted a load of Mobs to the entrance and someone got killed again. So we start off again (with 1 more death and wait) and start after the last one, (Slitherin! or is that in Hogwarts) . At this point with 1 to go someone decides the have to go, how damn annoying. I say to the others that we have no chance of completing it with 3 but we decide to continue, just for emphasis on the 1st encounter the other 2 get killed and I barely survive, it wasn't a hard encounter either so we decide to call it a day.

I levelled - it was no consolation!

Level Update

Shaman (30)
Mage (24)
Warrior (22)
Rogue (14)

Battlegrounds

Played battlegrounds for the first time on Saturday (the wife was out for a few hours and I had contrived to break the lawnmower!) with my Shaman level 30 - made sure I was going to be highest level! There was not a lot of organisation I have to say, I tried to tell people I was new and asked what the plan was! The doors cme down and we ran pell mell at the opposition, I was given the helpful advice of stick with the others. Well the opposition must have been organised worse than us because we won 3-0, I came 2nd worse in our rankings! The 2nd game we got absolutely killed, they had a big group near the middle of the field and we just got batterred lost 3-1 and I died more than killing blows (7 kills to 12 deaths I think :(. But I was about halfway up are rankings this time so it wasn't all bad. The 3 rd game was a lot closer, we eventually won 3-0 but it was touch and go all the time, I seemed to have a running battle with a hunter they had but I think I got him more than he got me though he did seem better in combat than me which I was suprised at - perhaps my kit needs upgrading. ANyway it was good fun, I came 2nd out of our team and 3rd overall so a big improvement over the 3 events though if the opposition was organised I'm sure we would have lost. Came out of the whole thing with 99kills and much better movement - I am very slow to turn having only just started using a mouse to move around and often find myself stairing at my feet!

Outside of BG I managed to get the 1st aid manual so I can now make silk dressings - well when I get to a bank and retrieve my silk I can! Got my mage to level 24 by grinding round camp Turango, I was in Stonetalon but kept getting ganked by a couple of nightelves - I hate Rogues! I don't seem to be playing the mage too well, seem to struggle with many of the quests. Played the Rogue for a bit but kept getting bad pulls and dieing, I may move him to Xroads as I know that area well and know I can get him to level 20 really quickly.

Well thats it for now!

blah blah

Couldn't settle last night, I should be playing the mage as he has the most rest bonus but I am really struggling with him at the moment. I couldn't killed Kuz, who is only lvl 21 so I had to abandon that quest, he's another spellcaster I just don't seem to be able to match his damage :(. I gave up on him for a while and played the Shaman just to go into battlegrounds really, thought I would do it whilst looking for the chap with the wind token. Then I realised that he was South of the Barrens not North - doh. Anyway I have maxed out my 1stAid and need to make the next levels available, I think this is on a book in DustWallow Marsh - will give it a try at the weekend I guess. Anyway got the wind token and went back to an inn - did leap of faith and now on endurance which I probably can't complete on my own! I'm struggling with leatherworking at the moment, I am on 147 and its difficult finding stuff to get the next levels, I have about 40 medium leather and about 30 heavy leather but no cured hide :( Swapped to the Rogue as he does alchemy and I need some minor agility potions but he isn't high enough level yet to get them, levelled him quite easily though with some quests I probably should have done a few levels ago. He crits nearlly 10% of the time now which is phenominal now, funnily enough my dagger skill isn't maxed out though which is odd.

Eventually went back to the mage, thought I would try Stonetalon again (was there b4 southern barrens). Did the gaia seed quest and thought I would have a look at the centaur quest, got ganked on the way by a druid. Who entangled me (and I forgot to use blink - doh!) he is immune to shapechange and freezing - so wtf do I do now? Well die as it happens! Anyway carried on then found that the centaurs are too tough - what a waste of time! Going to try the 2 logging machines next - other than that I am going to be a bit stuck I think.

The trouble with running several characters I have found is that you never want to run one unless they have rest bonus, some how you feel as though you are being cheated out of xp.

Fuckit

Fuckit this crap blog lost my message after half an hours writing, I can't be arsed to do it again.

Hurrah

On 2 counts, they have sorted out our internet access in the hotel (well one of the guests did). It was on an unsecure network and apparently half of Utrecht was using it.

Secondly I managed to gain 2 levels on my warrior who is now level 22. Did the ?? 6000 plans quest and the kill goblins and avenge village. Then went back to Ratchet to cash in some more quests - Raptor Horns, SpiderMoss Eggs, Ziz Fizzicks more orders and Miners Fortune. On the way there a WC group was forming and I got the last slot, whoopee I thought. As it turns out perhaps not, either someone is a dork or there is a problem with quest sharing so I didn't get the 2 quests from above WC. Anyway they were quite low level though we seemed to do OK it was a bit of a mare trying to get the aggro as there was a mage their, eventually I went into defensive stance and that worked better, then 1 left and we got wiped and called it a day - we had got Anaconda (sp?). Anyway when I got out another group was forming so I joined that (though should have gone to bed). I made sure that I got the quests from above the cave this time. Strange group 3 warriors a Priest 20-24 level and a 17th level Warlock who couldn't contribute a lot. We were doing really well until the highest level warrior left then the priest went AFK - we were looking at Pythos at the time which was pretty frustrating!

I wouldn't bother with the quest but the 15dps sword would be really handy 50% better than the one I have. I'll give it another couple of goes I guess.

Whats BG? Someone said they were doing BG last night I thought strange playing Baldurs Gate when it is so old. Shows what a daft old git I am he was talking about BattleGrounds. Of course I didn't mention it - oh no! I found out I am the same age as his father, well that made me feel good didn't it!

Should have plenty of rest bonus on my other chars now anyway so will play some of them tonight.

For the Horde!

More Internet Woes

Logged on as my warrior last night and was killed b4 I appeared by a ?? level. I didn't think u were supposed to be able to attack characters when they were that many levels lower than you? Decided t resurrect at the graveyard as it was closer to where I want to go - the logging area in Stonetalon, went and visisted Ziz Fizzicks but had 10 minute death disease so decided to log on as my Mage.

Met up with a mate of mine, Clarissa the priest (24) and we decided to do 'enemies from within' and 'new weapons(or something like that)' quests anyway killed a load of the stormers on the way, which give good xp, one of which was the blue one which gives a quest to talk to some Heffer in Turanjo. Anyway just got to where the quillboars were and my line dropped never to reappear. Apparently there is a problem with themodem! ANyway the really annoying thing is I have had to leave 2 characters outside of an inn for 24 hours, so I will get bugger all rest bionus. I tried again this morning and it was still down :(

Why don't I try another hotel you ask, well this one is the only one I know that gives free internet access and until I started this blog had been fine.

weekend

Well I managed to get on at the weekend which after the pitiful efforts I managed last week was good.

Managed to do some quests with the Shaman in 1kN, assasination (just) then did the secret notes, I was fortunately joined by someone as I was struggling with this one and had died 3 times and was about to give up and do something else. I took a trip to the racerack and found the mobs in that area very profitable though probably too tough for gaining lots of xp till I hot 30th. Helped another player kill 2 alliance here as well, but hung around too long and they got me back. Anyway gained a level so am now 29th (getting dizzy!). I also have a quest to collect some Agave's - gof they are rare, wandered round the area where they are and only found 2 and I think I need 10. Its going to take ages to complete that quest I reckon.

Played the Rogue and took him to 12th level he is in the Sepeculcher(sp?). I must say that Rogues are pretty easy to play and pretty strong from what I can tell. Anyway I'm going to quest round this area with him for a while as I have always been over at Xroads from level 12-20 before now just to see what its like, been OK so far.

Played the warrior for a while too, foud that I have no flightpath too ThunderBluff! This is the 3rd time on different characters that my flightpaths have disapeared, they have always come back though. I hope this is the case for him else its a really long walk. Anyway he went to Stonetalon to do 'Egghunt', the goblin quests and 'revenge my village'. Found another quest (Elite) to kill a big spider (can't remember her name but it began with a B) on a notice board. Tried to kill her myself, she was my level but an elite - no chance. Anyway teamed up with a druid to do it and we killed here but I died when I got back there I couldn't get the tooth, bloody annoying. Anyway fortunately another group was forming to do the same quest so I joined them, we killed her in nano-seconds. Got a 10dps sword as a reward, thats 2 better than I previously had ( I'm a sword and shield build). 1 bar off leveling and I have 4 quests to cash in :). Got to try and get in a WC party tonight and get that 15dps sword - nice.

Sorry theres no rant but I got to play at the weekend :)

Goddam wireless internet

Trying contuinuously for 1.5 hours to get in on the hotel wireless network. Eventually got in at 10:45 for about 0.5 hours and then was off about 0.5 an hour then OK for an hour. Line dropped a couple of times which i particularly annoying as you usually end up dead.

Anyway - because of the problems I thought I would play my lowest level character the Rogue. I had some quests to do in The Undercity when I got there I found I had dumped Sevrins note so couldn't complete one, aaargh! Also had a quest to speak to a rogue trainer so I did that which was 'Deathstalker' (sp?). So of I go to get a note from some bloke (which is going to involve killing him no doubt) who wanders between undercity and silverpine.

Found him eventually he was 13 level and I was 11 by that time, got him halfway down then lagged like hell, came back and some mages were killing him aaargh have to start again! Long and short I managed to find and kill him again 12hp left phew. Went back to the Sepeculture and found another quest I could do b4 heading back to the undercity so thought I would do that first - big mistake. I died about 4 times trying to take out mobs of 12-13 level, I'd nearlly completed the quest but it was nearlly 2 in the morning by then - thats the trouble if you can't get your fix early enough!!!

The eventual reward was a dagger with 6.4 dps coupled with the one a mate of mine sent me with a 8.2 dps (for lvl12 - previous ones were 3.3dps) I should be a mincing machine (and I don't mean walking with my cheeks clenched!).

Managed to get cooking up to about 20 and herb gathering to about the same, and alchemy is just a little less so the professions are coming on OK

Lets hope the internet is better for next week, its seriously boring in Utrecht on your own if you can't get into WoW! Next post should be Monday - this will be rant day as I probably won't get on WoW at the weekend.

Day 2 of the struggle against oppression

It took about and hour to logon last night. Eventually managed to download the patch and get in but the line dropped 3 or 4 times so it was a bit frustrating.
I was a bit aimless last night, played the Theodread the warrior for a while at first and got him to 20th level (he was only 1 bar off anyway). He is now in Orgrimmer was going to buy a sword but the good ones in AH are way too expensive. Going to try and get into WC as there is a good sword as a reward for one of those. It will be interesting (though not for my party) to see how I fair as a tank in a group as I have never tried it before. Since the patch the warrior seems much stronger but still not a touch on any other classes I think. Oh I found the battlegrounds entrance at long last, haven't really looked seriously but still it took a while - my warrior can't go in though - lol

Tried to take out a level 27 MOB with my level 22 Mage and he just resisted all my spells so I had to run away. Then tried doing the egg-hunt in the southern Barrens but was really struggling I thought he would be better with the AoE spells he has against the little swarmers but they just seemed to end up with more of them - at one stage I saw one wandering around with about 10 of the blighters. Also I was only getting 1 egg at a time so it was taking ages so I gave up. Seemed to be having trouble with Arcane Missiles, not showing all the damage, I was getting 2 lots of 2 missiles instead of 3?

Then played the Shaman - at one stage I was doing 20k xp/hr my best yet. He is in the 1k needles and farming centaurs, tried to go for the flame quest but there are 2 lvl 30's guarding it and I wouldn't be able to take them out. By then the line kept dropping again so I gave up and hearthstoned back to the barrens. I was having trouble with flight paths dissapearing on Monday night but it seems to be OK now, although my Mage seems to have lost some now! The new one in Turanjo is really useful for me at the moment.

Thats about it - must find some focus for this I guess. I usually only play 1 char a night but I have so much rest bonus because of missing nights that I keep flitting so as not to lose it!

For The Horde

Well here is the first post on the new blog. I decided to create this as I was sending a mail to a mate of mine every morning so thought why not post it instead.

This blog is about my activities on World of WarCraft. I play on BloodFeather (A European server). I currently have 4 characters on there

OromeBstard Shaman(28)
Arastar Mage(22)
Theodread Warrior(19)
Drogo (yes I know its a dwarf name) Rogue(10)

Anyway as it happens there is not much to say this morning as the hotel internet was down and I couldn't log on. Tonight may be the same too apparently :(. Theres a patch to download too so thats going to take some time as well - boo-hoo.
